We are so excited to be hiring three summer interns this summer! All three summer positions will assist our staff with various tasks involved in Oxford Baptist Church’s daily operations, summer camp and community events.
Below, you’ll find a short description of each position. Dates, vacation times, and wages will be discussed during the interview process.

Starts June 2nd, 2025 - 13 Week Work Term
Description:
The Camp Director will have the responsibility of supervising all aspects of our summer day camps. This will involve attending weekly staff meetings to ensure effective communication and planning. During their tenure, they will report to the children's ministry director and work closely with other staff members who will provide support, coaching, and encouragement.
Responsibilities:
The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our summer day camps. This begins by attending weekly staff meetings for communication and planning.
Before the camps commence, your responsibility would be to collaborate closely with the curriculum to ensure that all the activities and lessons are appropriate for the children and that they are carried out in a safe, clean and inviting environment. You will also be managing the registration process and maintaining clear communication with parents or guardians in the community. Furthermore, you will be coordinating the camp decorations, local advertising, and screening the volunteers in accordance with our Plan To Protect policy.
During the camp, your responsibility will be to supervise volunteers and ensure that every child attending is taken care of, and that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. You will need to ensure that everything is well-prepared and that volunteers have everything they need for the day camp to run smoothly. In addition to this, you will be responsible for addressing parental concerns and serving as the primary point of contact for parents and children throughout their week of camp.
Starts July 7th, 2025 - 7 Week Work Term
Description:
The Camp Leader will assist in organizing all aspects of the summer day camps Oxford Baptist Church is running in 2025. As you work under the supervision of our Children’s ministry director, you will create an interactive and educational day camp experience for school-aged kids from SK to Grade 5.
Responsibilities:
The Camp Leader will assist with various aspects of our summer day camps. This will involve attending weekly staff meetings to ensure effective communication and planning. During their tenure, they will report to the children's ministry director and work closely with other staff members who will provide support, coaching, and encouragement.
Before the camps commence, your responsibility would be to assist in preparing for our day camps. Jobs will be given to you on an as-needed basis. They will include tasks such as printing material, preparing decorations, setting up safe spaces needed for camp, and preparing materials for volunteers.
During the camp, you will assist in various rooms as needed. You will help oversee the care of the children and volunteers involved. You will also be involved with making sure the activities run smoothly. You will be the Camp Supervisor’s central teammate and helper.
Starts July 7th, 2025 - 8 Week Work Term
Description:
You will assist the Community Life Pastor at Oxford Baptist Church in engaging the local community through visitations and care.
Responsibilities:
The Community Worker will attend our weekly staff meetings to plan and coordinate activities and visitations in our community.
You will be responsible for helping organize and assist visitations and care programs for community members. This would include care for those in crisis, hospital visits, meeting seniors in their residences or retirement homes, engaging new Canadians in our community and helping those in need.
