Baptism is a significant step in the life of a believer. It does not save anyone or add anything to our salvation. Instead, baptism is an outward sign of an inward reality. It is a way to show others what God has done in your heart. It is a visible picture of your death with Christ and resurrection to a new life. We baptize people because Jesus Christ commanded His followers to be baptized. We believe baptism takes place by total emersion for those who profess faith in Jesus Christ. 

As part of being baptized at Oxford Baptist Church, we offer a baptism class and a one-on-one meeting to learn about your faith. There is no reason to be nervous; we just want to learn more about you and what God has done in your heart.
