Who We Are

Oxford Baptist Church is a family of sinful people that have a relationship with Jesus. This relationship has given us amazing hope and freedom; we simply want as many people as possible to experience that same thing.

Where We Come From

Oxford Baptist Church began in 1890 when First Baptist Church sent 40 people to start a church on the west side of Woodstock. It has been over 130 years, and although the people have changed, the mission hasn't. Our mission is still to bring the gospel to the city of Woodstock by inviting them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Reconciliation

That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who by faith receive him as their personal Saviour are justified on the grounds of the shed blood of the Son of God and hereby become children of God and joint heirs with Christ.

  • The Lord's Keeping Power

In witnessing to the saving and keeping power of our Lord, in the power of the Spirit-filled life, by which we mean, not the teaching of eradication, but a life of yieldedness, in which the Spirit of God gives victory over operations of the flesh, which remain in every believer as long as they are in the body.
